SORELLA ABRAHAMS - CEO & CO-FOUNDER
Sorella was born in the UK, into a warm, Chabad family as one of twelve children. This has given her many skills and much passion for helping others and she has been involved in outreach ever since. Community building has been her life calling and she has run outreach programs in the U.S. and U.K. before marrying Rabbi Aycee and moving to Sydney in 2009. She then spent 13 years strengthening and growing the Dover Heights Shule community.
Her hobbies include creative writing, public speaking, and teaching, particularly the deeper meanings and relevance of Judaism. Her passion is people and relationships, she loves bringing people together in celebration and joy.
She is also the co-founder of the Soul Centre, a Chabad Jewish hub in Randwick.
RABBI AYCEE ABRAHAMS - DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDER
Rabbi Aycee, born in the US to a loving Chabad family, immigrated to the UK as a child. After studying in the US and UK, he trained and was ordained as a Rabbi in Sydney in 2005 and fell in love with this beautiful city.
Between 2005-2009 he traveled the world working as a Rabbi in places such as London, Ukraine, Ireland, and Hawaii before marrying and moving to Australia with his wife, Sorella. Together, they spent 13 years working in Dover Heights Shule, strengthening and growing the community through youth, young adult, and family engagement.
He has a passion for helping others and bringing people together with delicious food. He enjoys the artisan process of specialised foods such as sourdough bread, biltong, and smoked meats, to name a few. He's a creative artist and enjoys designing logos and websites. He loves connecting with others and is always up for a good joke and l’chaim.
He also serves as the Rabbi of The Soul Centre, a Chabad House in Randwick.
LIORA SOUSSAN - DIRECTOR
Liora is a UTS graduate with a BA in Business and Marketing. She has an ongoing romance with everything organisational and strategic. She has a considerable wealth of knowledge and an enthusiasm for working with people.
She is organised, energetic, and a creative problem solver. Currently, Liora is working in the healthcare sector for an online telehealth practice.
Liora has a passion for community and volunteering. You can find her waking up at 5 am to go for a run or working her magic to fill her schedule until it’s bursting.
AVI BAUER - DIRECTOR
Avi is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over nine years of professional services and commercial experience having worked across a wide range of companies including top-five ASX, Fortune 500, and global multinationals, supporting these companies successfully navigate change, achieve operational optimisation and meet regulatory and stakeholder reporting obligations.
On a personal level, Avi's #1 priority is his beautiful wife Simona and cheeky children. Avi is proud to be Jewish and loves getting involved in community events, gatherings, and celebrations, and is always up for a chat about any and every sport, especially his beloved Springboks.
